The European Organ-on-Chip Society (EUROoCS) is a leading European network dedicated to advancing Organ-on-Chip research and fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of human-relevant methods. The EUROoCS Annual Meetings bring together leading experts from academia, clinical research, industry, regulatory agencies, and policy to explore the latest breakthroughs in organs-on-chip and microphysiological systems (MPS).

The European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE) invites applications for three travel grants to attend the 2026 EUROoCS Annual Meeting in Braga, Portugal. Each grant provides €1000 for travel expenses. Grant winners may also receive free accommodation in a university campus residence in Braga upon request.

The aim of these grants is to support university students and early-career researchers from Europe (both EU and non-EU countries) who are committed to animal-free science but may lack the financial resources to attend.

Priority will be given to applicants from low- and middle-income countries, including those from the Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs) as defined by COST Actions.

Eligibility and Conditions:

  • Applicants must be based in Europe (EU or non-EU countries within Europe).
  • Applicants must align with ECEAE’s mission to replace and abolish animal experiments.
  • Selected recipients must be able to attend the entire EUROoCS Annual Meeting (22. - 24. June 2026) and possess the necessary travel documents for Portugal.
  • Grant recipients will be expected to participate in ECEAE’s satellite event, planned for the morning of 22 June (final confirmation pending).
  • Grant recipients must agree to participate in ECEAE’s public outreach activities related to the EUROoCS Annual Meeting (such as interviews, videos, or social media content).

Applicants should clearly describe how their participation will contribute to their professional development and promote the advancement of non-animal research methods.

Application deadline: 29. March 2026
